IU recognizes outstanding alumnus Ali Tuet
President McRobbie presents Ali Tuet with the IU Distinguished International Service Award
The Hong Kong chapter of the IU Alumni Association gathered on Sunday for a dinner and reception with President McRobbie. At the conclusion of the evening’s event, Vice President David Zaret recognized the important service of alumnus Ali Tuet by presenting him with IU’s Distinguished International Service Award. The award is given by the Vice President for International Affairs to selected individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions in service to IU.
Since graduating from IU in 1973 with an MBA from the School of Business, he has been a compassionate friend and supporter of the Singing Hoosiers, of which he was a student member from 1970-1972. His generosity was demonstrated in 2004 when he made a significant donation to the group and in 2011 when he played an instrumental role to make the group’s tour of China possible. He took care of their financial and technical needs. He has earned the group’s Distinguished Alumni Award. In addition to this service, from 1999-2008 he also served as a member of the IU Foundation International Committee, a group that has aided IU in its international efforts.
